Kori Danda Trek is a hidden gem in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. Nestled at an altitude of 3,800 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, rich cultural experiences, and a peaceful escape from the crowded cities. This short and scenic trek is perfect for those looking for an adventure that combines natural beauty, history, and the warm hospitality of the Gurung community.
We did this trek independently, without any travel agency or guide, so everything we’ve shared is based on our own personal experience.
From the viewpoint at Kori Danda, you'll enjoy stunning panoramas of:
Lamjung Himal (6,988 m)
Annapurna II (7,937 m)
Machhapuchhare / Fishtail (6,993 m)
It's a perfect spot for photography in the majestic Himalayan landscape.
The trail was popular even before routes like Ghorepani and ABC were developed.
The trek goes through Sikles Village, one of the largest Gurung communities in Nepal.
Stay in traditional Gurung homestays, experience local customs, and enjoy their hospitality.
Locals believe Sota, near Sikles, is the origin of the Gurung ethnic group.
With time, you may spot remnants of ancient royal structures in the region.
Located at 2,546 meters, it's the world’s lowest altitude glacial lake.
In winter, the lake freezes completely, surrounded by snow-covered peaks.
Known for viral avalanche videos captured here.
Occasional avalanches descend from Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
The route also connects to Nyamla Pass, leading toward Manang, another famous trekking area.
A short, scenic, and less crowded trek in the Annapurna region.
Perfect for those seeking off-the-beaten-path adventures.
Combines mountain views, cultural richness, and natural beauty.
Ideal for photographers, cultural travelers, and nature lovers alike.
